Product Change Details

Note

The information below is current at the time this report was published. There is a possibility the final release may contain additional changes. These will be described in the associated release report.

G-NAF

Retirement of 84,000 addresses

In the November 2024 release, approximately 84,000 addresses will be retired where they have been assessed as either historical (replaced by new addresses), or “infill” addresses. (“Infill” addresses are addresses created by contributors to complete a street number sequence, however, analysis indicates that they are not physical addresses). This change will result in a reduction in the number of “live” addresses in G-NAF. These retired addresses will remain in G-NAF with a confidence of -1

Localities

In the Northern Territory, the localities of BESWICK and PIGEON HOLE have been replaced with WUGULARR and NITJPURRU respectively. There were 79 active addresses in BESWICK in the August 2024 release and these will be retired and become -1 in the November release. They will be replaced by 79 addresses in WUGULARR. There were no addresses present within PIGEON HOLE in the August 2024 release so there was no need to retire addresses in NITJPURRU for the November 2024 release.

In New South Wales, the locality of BLUE MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK has been retired and replaced by 14 new localities along with amendments to adjoining locality boundaries. The new localities are:

  • BIRRABANG

  • BLUE LABYRINTH

  • BURRAMOKO

  • CARMARTHEN

  • GOVETTS

  • INGAR

  • JAMISON VALLEY

  • KARIWOGA

  • MASSIF RIDGE

  • MOUNT PORTAL

  • NARROW NECK

  • ROCKLILY RIDGE and

  • TESSELATE HILL

Property

NSW Enhancement

Geoscape introduced approximately 1,160,000 additional NSW property records that relate to Strata cadastre parcels for the September 2024 release. These properties provide additional property information at sites where only the property relating to the Lot parcel was previously provided. This change resulted in count increases for the NSW property and property_cadastre tables.

Electoral Boundaries

The Commonwealth Electoral Boundaries for NSW, WA and VIC will be updated according to recent determinations.

General

Cadastre and Property in GeoPackage Format

From the September 2024 release onwards, Cadastre and Property will be available in an additional GeoPackage (.gpkg) format.
