Retirement of addresses in G-NAF

As part of the process of continual improvement of G-NAF, some 7,000 lot numbered addresses in Queensland, primarily associated with small parcels and water bodies, have been identified as invalid from an addressing perspective and have been retired in the May 2026 release of G-NAF.

As in previous updates, these retired addresses will remain in G-NAF with a confidence of -1.

Examples of some instances where addresses have been retired are provided below.

  • Continuing review of lot numbered addresses.

  • Identifying and creating principal–alias address relationships including address de-duplication.

  • Ongoing validation and removal of sensitive information in the building_name, address_site_name and geocode_site_name attributes.

  • Targeted address improvements and corrections as required.
