NSW G-NAF Property ID updates

Prior to the November update of G-NAF, in New South Wales, the GNAF_PROPERTY_PID link for strata subdivisions has been linking to a general descriptor for the strata property. As of the November update, the GNAF_PROPERTY_PID link for strata parcels has been updated, approximately 960,000 updates, to reflect the specific strata property and provide a closer correlation with the contributor ids.

WA G-NAF Property ID updates

There was an issue identified whereby some GNAF_PROPERTY_PIDs in G-NAF were not getting updated correctly. This has been corrected and as a result of the change, there have been some 20,000 updates to GNAF_PROPERTY_PIDs in WA for the November release of G-NAF.

Impact of Cadastral shifts in Victoria

As noted in the November 2022 G-NAF Release Report, the upgrades to the cadastral and property boundaries in Victoria are ongoing and these changes may to affect address geocodes that are relocated more than 1m from their previous geocode as a result of the boundary upgrades.

It should be noted that the bulk of the changes expected have now been applied to the Geoscape Cadastre and Property, however some anomalies as a result of this change remain, for example, in a small number of cases the address geocode has not been moved by the jurisdiction resulting in the address geocode being located in the road casement, as shown below, and it is not known at this time when these geocodes will be moved by the jurisdiction back within the parcel boundaries.

Other ongoing changes

  • Identifying and creating principal–alias address relationships including address de-duplication.

  • Ongoing validation and removal of sensitive information in the building_name, address_site_name and geocode_site_name attributes.

  • Targeted address improvements and corrections as required.
